Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and analytical Associate with 1.5 - 4 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, or infrastructure investing. The Associate will play a key role in the evaluation, execution, and management of investments in the energy infrastructure space. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team with a significant role in shaping the future of energy.
Key Responsibilities
- Investment Analysis: Conduct rigorous financial and market analysis to evaluate potential investments, including creating detailed financial models, sensitivity analyses, and return calculations.
- Due Diligence: Lead and support due diligence efforts, collaborating with third-party consultants and internal teams to assess market, operational, financial, legal, and environmental risks.
- Transaction Execution: Support end-to-end deal execution, including term sheet negotiation, contract structuring, and closing processes. Work closely with legal and finance teams to ensure seamless execution.
- Portfolio Management: Monitor and analyze performance metrics of portfolio companies, assist in strategic decision-making, and prepare quarterly and annual performance reports for senior management and investors.
- Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions in the energy infrastructure space to support investment thesis development.
- Investor Relations: Assist in preparing materials for investor presentations, quarterly updates, and annual meetings. Contribute to fundraising efforts as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience: 1.5 - 4 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, or a relevant role in energy infrastructure or renewables investment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, engineering, or a related field. An MBA or CFA is a plus but not required.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in financial modeling and analysis, with a strong understanding of valuation techniques, LBO modeling, and cash flow forecasting.
- Sector Knowledge: Knowledge of the energy infrastructure sector, including familiarity with renewable energy assets, utilities, energy storage, and regulatory environment is preferred.
- Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with a keen attention to detail and ability to work through complex investment scenarios.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present findings concisely to senior management and external stakeholders.
- Team Player: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and adapting to changing priorities.
- Location: Position is based in California, with occasional travel required for site visits and portfolio management.
